#### THE ALBUM:

The album version shown is an Alternative edition of the Fleetwood Mac album. Released in 2019 only on vinyl, it brings together the Early Take analog versions of the album's tracks. Early Take? We explain on the spot!

Fleetwood Mac is the tenth studio album by Anglo-American band Fleetwood Mac . This is their second eponymous album, after their first album released in 1968 with the original line-up. It was released on July 11, 1975 on the Warner Bros. label . Records and was produced by Keith Olsen and the band.

It is the group's debut album with guitarist Lindsey Buckingham and singer Stevie Nicks , both American. Fleetwood Mac had relocated to California in 1974 and after the departure of their guitarist and singer, Bob Welch set out to find his replacement. It was producer Keith Olsen , to whom Mick Fleetwood came to listen to some demos , who introduced the eponymous album of a young duo, Lindsey Buckingham / Stevie Nicks . Mick was thrilled by the guitar solo on the track Frozen Love and offered to the young guitarist to join his band. Buckingham had to explain to Mick that he accepted on condition that his companion at the time and singer Stevie would be part of the group. Mick agreed while leaving a veto power to Christine McVie in case she didn't like Stevie. The meeting took place in a Mexican restaurant in Los Angeles and Christine immediately liked Stevie 1 and the tenth version of the group was born.

This album was recorded in January and February 1975 at Sound City Studios in Van Nuys , California . More rock than blues, this album really launched Fleetwood Mac's career in the United States thanks in particular to the singles Rhiannon , Say You Love Me and Over My Head . The song Crystal , from the Buckingham / Nicks album was reworked and included on the album. The two newcomers composed with Christine McVie the entire album with the exception of the song Blue Letter written by Richard and Michael Curtis, two friends of Stevie and Lindsay.

It reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200 on September 4, 1976 and was ranked 183rd on the 2003 Rolling Stone Magazine Top 500 All-Time List.
